I was browsing Slowtwitch.com this morning and came across some YouTube running videos. A lot of them were good but they had some technical writing flaws in them. For the most part, I do not think people would end up running poorly because of the innaccurate comments in the video’s. But, if you want a simple, very well done description of running technique then check this one out:
It reminded me of the 1960 films that I saw when I was in elementary school or even Junior High except this one was done in COLOR! (PS: to not date myself, I was born in the 70s). Most importantly, it is an accurate depiction of good running technique. I can not emphasize enough that this is the time of year to work on your form! Think about it as much as you can on your runs. Do some drills. A treadmill and a mirror (and/or a video camera) are good ways to watch yourself. Or have a coach or running specialist check you out and give you an improvement plan.
I also found a story on Silverman: Winner Petr - I really need to do this race, maybe 2008, now there is a legitimate course record to beat as well
Not much going on this weekend for tri’s. So, I guess I will have to catch up on some football. Actually it has been a solid week of training and I will have a busy weekend of riding and running.
If the weekend goes to plan, I will be hitting 20hrs. Again, nothing too hard. Some hill running, some paddle/pull work in the pool and some big gear (or low cadence climbing). Luckily the weather has cooperated (knock on wood). I had a couple of chilly rides on my new hardtail mtn bike (wicked cool specialized stumpjumper in black/white – guess I need a photo of that) and I did not have to ride the trainer at all this week. Looks like it is nice enough to hit the road today for my hour ride and some BG sets in my aero bars. There is more snow on the tops of the mountains though.
